Sometimes we know what we want to share, but the right moment has not arrived.
A parent may gather photographs and a recording for a child’s future birthday. Classmates may prepare something for their next reunion. A family may want to carry a few memories into another stage of life.
A Time Capsule in Clozeu is a Collection prepared for a future moment.
It can hold selected photographs, videos, voice recordings, files and other supported material. It is intended for one chosen recipient, which may be a person or a shared Space.
A recipient Space may represent several people. It is still one recipient destination for that capsule.
Recipient acceptance is part of the process. Preparing a Time Capsule does not mean an unsolicited message is guaranteed to arrive many years later.
Before reveal, the recipient cannot read the sealed contents. The sender can still view them through their authorised access.
Clozeu also supports conversation posts that become visible later. Those provide a way to leave a message within a conversation for a chosen time. A Time Capsule brings together the material of a Collection.
The distinction helps people choose what they are preparing.
A few words for a future anniversary may belong in a delayed conversation post. Photographs, recordings and other pieces gathered for a reunion may belong together in a Time Capsule.
Delayed conversation posts have their own controls for changes and removal. The Time Capsule rules should not be assumed to apply to them.
Preparing either deserves some thought.
Who is it for? When should it become available? Will the recipient understand why these particular things were chosen?
A photograph may need a name or a date. A recording may need a few words explaining the occasion. What feels obvious today may be less obvious years later.
Where a shared Space is involved, its governance and lead-time rules apply before a Time Capsule is sealed. Preparing something on behalf of a family or group involves responsibilities beyond choosing the contents.
Before you prepare one
Time Capsules can currently be scheduled up to 50 years ahead, subject to the applicable service settings and conditions. This scheduling range is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service or successful delivery throughout that period.
Choose the contents, recipient and timing carefully before packaging. Packaging limits subsequent changes: a limited one-time edit to details or the reveal date is available under the applicable rules, rather than unrestricted rewriting of the contents.
At reveal, an accepted Capsule becomes readable within Clozeu. This does not guarantee that an email reaches someone, or that they read it, at that exact moment.
A Time Capsule gives people a way to prepare deliberately for a later moment.
Its value begins with the care taken now: choosing what to include, who it belongs with and why it may matter when its time comes.
