After a gathering, there may be more to share than anyone expected.
Several people photographed the same moment. Someone recorded a video. Another person remembers what happened just before it. Some contributions seem ordinary until someone explains why they matter.
An Event gives those pieces somewhere to come together.
It is a place to gather and review. In Clozeu, it is temporary.
That distinction matters from the beginning. Adding something to an Event and choosing to keep it in a Collection are separate steps.
While contributions are gathered in the Event, people can look through them and decide what deserves a longer place in their shared history.
Not everyone will choose the same things.
One person may value the formal group photograph. Another may prefer a blurry picture of two relatives laughing in the kitchen. A short recording may matter because it preserves a familiar voice.
Selection gives people room to recognise those differences.
The chosen material can then be kept in Collections within the appropriate Person, Family or Group Space.
An old occasion can become an Event too. Photographs from a wedding twenty years ago can be gathered today. The age of the occasion and the time available to gather its contributions are different things.
Standard Events currently last 14 days from creation. Check the expiry displayed for your Event, because the options that apply to it may affect that date.
Keep the photographs and files that matter in Collections before the Event expires. Keeping selected material is a separate step from leaving it in the Event.
Do not rely on recovering material that has not been kept before expiry.
An Event makes room for many contributions.
Choosing what to keep gives those contributions a continuing place among the people they matter to.
